On the way to 50 books

I keep getting comments from people about how much I read.  In truth, while I do read more than average, I've never made the 100 books a year goal and usually meander somewhere between 50 to 80 titles per year.  Audiobooks help bolster these numbers, especially since I now spend at least an hour each weekday commuting.  If you are of the opinion that audiobooks are not books and shouldn't count as reading you're in the wrong place.

I've also had several requests that the book reviews I write have the chance to be seen by a larger audience than www.goodreads.com affords.  Some of my reviews are a little, well... different and since this is my turf I get to have a little more leeway.

So as of right now, Aug 5th, I've just finished my 33rd book for the year - "Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage" by Alfred Lansing and narrated by Simon Prebble.  That makes 11 paper copy books and 22 audiobooks.   The next audiobook is Gail Caron Levine's "Fairest" and I'm reading "City of Light" by Lauren Belfer.  Who knows what I'll pick up next!
